Author Spotlight: Areti Chalkiadaki - Where Pedagogy Meets Photography

Introduction

For today’s "Author Spotlight", I am delighted to introduce Areti Chalkiadaki, a Greek educator, researcher, and author whose work sits at the beautiful intersection of academic rigour and creative exploration. With a career dedicated to understanding school culture and 21st-century skills, Areti has taken her passion for learning beyond the classroom and into the vibrant streets of Barcelona. Her work is a testament to the power of "storymaking" as a tool for personal agency and reflection.

A Global Academic Journey: Areti’s Background

Areti’s journey is one of deep intellectual curiosity and international experience. Born and raised in Crete, Greece, she has lived and studied across Europe, including Athens, Bath, Barcelona, and Lisbon. This multicultural perspective informs both her research and her creative writing.

Areti holds a PhD in Applied Pedagogy from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, a Master’s in Management with Human Resources from the University of Bath, and a Bachelor’s in English Language and Literature from the University of Athens. Professionally, she is a dedicated English teacher and researcher, focusing on how we can introduce new, transformative practices into modern education. Whether she is publishing articles in international journals or delivering seminars, her focus remains on the skills needed to thrive in the 21st century.

An Interactive Literary Experience

Areti's creative work is as much about the reader's journey as it is about her own. She views storytelling not just as an art form, but as an active process where the audience participates in the narrative.
